Add a product to someone’s order

I have a customer that texts me when she forgot to add something to her order and I would like to be able to add a precut to an established order.

Modify existing orders

Customers call all the time asking to add things to their order. Instead of creating a second order. I have gone in and tried to manually do it for them by creating a second order, but it will not let me generate it. So ultimately, I Have to make them place a second order any way. Is there something I’m missing? It would be great to be able to add items and send them an invoice/Payment link.

Not sure if this is the same idea, but for unpaid orders, when editing it can we then save and send to terminal for payment with a card?

Enter Ad Hoc orders outside a set bake day

Angela Prouse
Sometimes customers request items on days that are not associated to a regular bake day. I would like to have a way to add these orders to keep track of them and print invoices without having to set a bake day. Perhaps there could be an ongoing open bake day, only visible to the bakers, for us to add custom orders, that could be sorted by and printed by date? Right now, I am having to track these orders outside the system. Ideally, I would like to have everything in the system. There will need to be a way to delete fulfilled orders not just cancel them. I can put together a requirements spec for you if you like – I used to be a BA.

Hi Angela Prouse we are curious to hear about the requirement specs, could you send it over? Thanks!

Here is a User story. It still needs acceptance criteria and can probably be fleshed out more.
Ad hoc Bake Day
Background:
Sometimes customers request items on days that are not linked to a regular set bake day. There is no way currently to enter and fulfil these orders unless they are linked to a bake day. It would be ideal to have an ad hoc bake day to track and maintain these types of orders. Only the baker can enter these orders.
Main Scenario:
A customer wants to order a loaf of sourdough for Wednesday, April 1st and there is no set bake day for this date. The baker needs to enter this order, select a date, select a payment method, print a prep list, print and invoice, and close/fulfill.
Requirements:
- The ad hoc bake day order format has basically the same structure as a regular order.
- The customer must be registered in the app.
- Only the baker can maintain and view the ad hoc bake date.
- The ad hoc bake day has a date ordered field, which the system updates on save.
- The ad hoc bake day has a pick up date field, which the baker enters.
- The ad hoc bake day has a pick up location field, which the baker enters.
- The baker can select any product from the product library.
- The baker can select a payment method. If any method other than cash, the customer is notified and they can enter the system to submit their payment.
- Multiple orders can be entered for an ad hoc bake date.
- An order can be deleted or cancelled.
- An order can be moved to a different ad hoc bake date.
- If multiple ad hoc orders for a date exist, they can be sorted by customer, by location.
- An invoice(s) can be printed for an ad hoc bake date.
- A prep list can be printed for an ad hoc bake date.
- Once an order is fulfilled, the baker can mark it fulfilled.

Agree 100% with this one. Many times I manually put in an order for a customer, they text after I send a link wanting to add to the order. I can 1. Cancel and put in another order with additional items, 2. Have them finish that transaction and start a 2nd with new items. Just editing an existing order would be ideal.

I would love to edit an unpaid order if they want to add onto it.

Right now if I manually add an order into the app, once I submit it, it shows as unpaid, as they are paying cash at pick-up. But I cannot edit that order. I can cancel it, fulfill it, or move it. I cannot edit the quantities of products. I've had on more than one occasion needed to add to an order like this. The work around is, I have to create a 2nd order for that customer, and it starts to get confusing when you have 10-12 orders.

I see this is already in progress, but would this include making changes to an order that is already paid for? Example - I had a customer who did a bulk order for 1 type of cookies, but he realized later that he wanted to do a variety. The only way I could change it was to refund the order and recharge again. He did not want to do that as it was a large order and having two pending charges is not ideal for companies. Will this feature include those kinds of edits as well? Such as if I want to add/remove items, would the customer receive a refund or new payment link if there is a difference in price?
Mendel Engel
Elaine Rajan: yes, we are working towards this full capability. The update released yesterday now allows you to partially refund orders by removing specific products. Coming soon you will be able to add items to orders too and send a payment link to request the additional payment needed.
